December 6, 2011, Calgary, AB - IntelliView President Dr. Wael Badawy has been approved by the Standards Council of Canada for nomination as an industry representative on the Advisory Panel on Standards.

The Advisory Panel provides strategic and policy advice on standards-related matters, and oversight that safeguards the impartiality of SCC’s standards accreditation programs. The standards Council of Canada’s advisory committee structure ensures that the organizations governing council has access to a wide variety of advice, information, and viewpoints.

Dr. Badawy’s addition to the panel will be a great asset because of his knowledge and experience in the field of video analytics. Dr. Badawy will be able to provide strong insight from his years of research and experience at IntelliView. "I am honored to be part of this wonderful panel and look forward to sharing my knowledge so that I can make a difference,” said Dr. Badawy.

Dr. Badawy is the President and Founder of IntelliView Technologies Inc. In addition, he has mentored more than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and in 2010 he was included in Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Calgarians Under 40. Dr. Badawy has also been awarded: The Calgary Immigrant of Distinction Award, The Celestica Award for outstanding technology engineering development, The SCC Award of Excellence, and The Microsoft Canadian Innovation Award.
