IntelliView President, Dr. Wael Badawy presented his company at the Canadian Financing Forum among business leaders and top tier investors from Canada and the United States. The conference took place at the Vancouver Fairmont Hotel on February 10th, 2011.
The CFF conference creates a venue for high technology SMEs to interface with corporate and venture capital investors in a bid to raise risk capital and attract talent and mentors from the audience. The event featured presentations from 30 of the best and most promising Canadian technology companies.
During his presentation, Dr. Badawy spoke about the benefits of using remote surveillance with video analytics and the potential demand for this technology. Through an independent study, 300,000 oil and gas sites have been identified in Western Canada. IntelliView intends to capture 90,000 of these sites which will lead to revenues of $3.6 billion. The goal for IntelliView is to raise $2 to $5 million and use these funds to grow the company’s footprint nationally and internationally and increase revenue to $3.6 billion over a 5 to 7 year period.
IntelliView provides real time visual event notification by converting regular cameras into smart video sensors using its patented video analytic software platform. The software has been leveraged to effectively solve a variety of pressing business problems in the energy sector. With increased legislation and pressure to increase operating margins, exploration, production, and transmission; companies need IntelliView’s cutting edge technology to augment their existing data acquisition infrastructure and proactively manage their asset integrity and efficiency. The software resides inside a data aggregator called a SmrtDVR. Through IntelliView’s products and services, customers will be able to reduce operational costs, enhance risk management, and increase safety and security.
Dr. Wael Badawy is the President of IntelliView Technologies Inc. In 2008, Wael went full-time with the company and has since grown into a 16 man operation with offices in Calgary and Edmonton. In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Wael has mentored more than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students and in 2010 he was included in Avenue Magazine Top 40 Calgarians Under 40, as well as the Calgary Immigrant of Distinction Award.
