![]() IntelliView was founded by a core group of entrepreneurial professionals who have extensive and proven experience in technology related products and solutions. This experience includes start-up and small company experience as well as larger company experience, all of which involved the commercialization and bringing to market of various technology related products and solutions.
IntelliView’s management team has extensive experience in the application IP-based solutions for mission critical applications found in harsh environments, the commercialization of technology based solutions, and domain expertise within many of the markets requiring rugged IP-based video surveillance solutions; making IntelliView uniquely well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities present in the emerging market for rugged IP-based video surveillance solutions.

IntelliView’s staffing profile reflects the company’s genesis from a University research environment and a depth of knowledge of the core theorems of analytics. 85% of staff possess a Master’s degree or higher, with 38% holding a PhD designation.

![]() Dr. Wael Badawy, PhD: President and Founder
Dr. Badawy was an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Calgary and is highly recognized in the field of computer engineering. His many awards include: 2002 Petro-Canada Young Innovator Award; 2001 Micralyne Microsystems Design Award; 2003 Departmental Research Excellence Award; and, two international awards from the IEEE (1998 and 2004) for advancement of the engineering profession and academic excellence. He also serves as editor to the ISO/SC29, part 9 standards, chairs three Canadian Advisory Committees (CAC) and a Canadian Delegation, organized numerous international technical conferences/workshops and makes frequent contributions to technical journals. Dr. Badawy supervised and graduated many MSc and PhD students.
Bill Hews: Executive Chairman
Bill Hews is President of Fideliter Inc, an advisory and investment firm. He has 30 years’ experience in technology companies starting with finance and operations roles at Nortel, then with smaller companies in executive, advisor, investor and director roles. He has gained exposure to Canadian, US, European and Far East markets and supply chains. The companies have worked in a variety of sectors; telecomm, software, hardware, geomatics, location based services, medical devices and oil and gas, and at a variety of stages; startup/co-founder, turnaround, repositioning, market penetration. He has served on public company boards as Chair of Governance, Audit committees and as Board Chair, and also on non-profit health and education-related boards. Bill has an Engineering degree from University of Toronto and MBA from the University of Western Ontario. ![]() Christopher Beadle: Vice President - Sales and Marketing
Christopher Beadle is a Sales and Marketing professional, with proven experience in taking technology companies to the next level in terms of revenue and market presence. He holds a BA and MBA from the University of Toronto and has held executive positions at TELUS Communications, Bell West, and Wi-LAN Inc. As Vice-President Sales and Marketing, he led a new division in TELUS to be recognized as the second fastest growing call centre in North America. As the first VP Sales for Bell Canada in Western Canada, he led a sales team that built recurring annual revenue of over $250 million by its third year of operation. Since 2009 he has focused on assisting emerging technology companies in commercializing their products and services. Chris joined IntelliView in July, 2011.
![]() Gordon Edwards: Vice President - Operations
Gordon Edwards is a business operations professional with 30 years of experience across a broad spectrum of industries, most predominantly in the high-tech sector. He has held various executive and senior leadership positions from strategic planning and business management to manufacturing, customer service, supply chain and engineering functions. Gord was employed for 19 years at Nortel Networks during which he grew a supply chain by an order of magnitude in 6 months and led the execution of restructuring initiative which improved working capital by $200 million. Recently, as a Partner at MissingLink Business Operations Partnership, he led the largest insourcing initiative for WestJet Airlines, improved field service response by 80% for General Electric, and developed the operating plan, supply chain and quality assurance program for an entrepreneurial company with anticipated first year revenues of $10 million. Gord holds an engineering degree from the University of Waterloo and obtained his MBA from the University of Calgary, focusing on new venture creation.
![]() Dr. C. Ashiq Rahman, PhD: Director of Product Engineering
C. Ashiq Rahman received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary. He has been involved in research and development in the field of Video and Image processing for more than 10 years. He is a member of the SC29 (Coding of Moving Pictures and Associated Audio) and SC6 (Telecommunications and Information Exchange between Systems) of the CAC/JTC1 (Joint Technical Committee 1 of Canadian Advisory Committees). He was a contributor towards the development of the ISO/IEC MPEG-4/H.264 industrial standardization. Dr. Rahman received numerous awards and scholarships, including iCORE and NSERC, throughout his career. He was a recipient of the Alberta Ingenuity Industry R&D Associate award for pursuing his research in smart analytics based video surveillance systems at IntelliView Technologies Inc. Board Members

Peter spent the past 15 years working and volunteering in the Alberta technology sector and is currently an advisor, mentor, and investor helping early stage technology companies in Calgary; mainly in the areas of strategy and finance. Peter is CFO, part time, of Replicon Inc., the world leader in web based time tracking solutions for project oriented organizations. Peter’s corporate career includes serving 20 months as CFO of Wi-LAN Inc., a leading designer, developer, and supplier of broadband wireless data networks’ and co-founder of the OFDM Forum. During Peter’s time at Wi-LAN, the company made four acquisitions and raised $60 million in three equity financings. Prior to joining Wi-LAN in January of 2000, Peter led the Calgary technology practice of KPMG, assisting a wide range of technology companies with issues related to strategy, alliance partners, financing, people, securities, and tax in Canada and the US. Peter holds a Chartered Accountant designation.
Don Cawley Don is presently Vice-President Automation Business Solutions and a member of the Board of Directors for Spartan Controls. Born and raised in north eastern Ontario, Don graduated from Queens University with a degree in civil engineering. He joined Spartan Controls in 1985 and has had progressively senior roles, culminating in his joining the company's board 15 years ago.
