SmrtALPR

Automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) is a mass surveillance method used to read the license plates on vehicles. The system first uses a series of image manipulation techniques to detect, normalize and enhance the image of the license plate, and finally extracts the alphanumeric characters. The information captured includes the alphanumeric plate characters, date and time, lane identification and more. This data is compiled in approximately 250 milliseconds.

SmrtALPR can be deployed in many applications including; parking lot monitoring, building/site access control, traffic control and monitoring for cities and governments. The system can also be customized with appropriate video cameras for mounting on traffic surveillance vehicles (i.e. police, parking authority, etc.) for mobile surveillance applications.

The SmrtALPR software runs on the IntelliView Intelligent Video Analyzer (IVA) and can be linked to other applications and/or databases. Monitoring and management is provided by IntelliView Video Management Software (VMS).
